DAY BY DAY

Day 1: Travel to Santa Cruz de San José de Chiquitos .. Leaving San Jose, we went to Santa Cruz la Vieja, a historical place where archeological remains attest to the founding of the first colony under the name of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, in the year 1561 The founder of Santa Cruz la Vieja was Ñuflo Chavez. An educational trail leads through the Valley of the Moon to Laguna Letëi. Day 2: Tour de San Jose de Chochis, visited the Marian Shrine, then to the hot springs of Aguas Calientes to Santiago de Chiquitos.
We left San José de Chiquitos in that direction, and after an interesting and fun trip we arrived at Chochis community. Chochis means “fury of the wind.” On both sides, the village is surrounded by high plateaus of rock, being the Cerro La Torre, a monolith of red stone, the characteristic symbol of the place. It is a monolith of about 600 m tall – an impressive monument that stands out in the landscape. At his feet, parishioners built the Shrine of La Torre, whose main feature is its beautiful carved ornaments in wood. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a dip in Aguas Calientes, in the midst of a heavenly environment. Flows of hot water from deep underground at a temperature up to 40 ° C and a content of fine sulfur. They are located in a ravine surrounded by flat and sandy exotic vegetation. Day 3: Short stroll to the educational trail to the Mirador del Valle Tucavaca, you will be amazed at the variety of hiking and trekking options in the surrounding area. One of the tours takes visitors from Serrania de Santiago. An educational trail 6 km brings us to a point of view that it’s no wonder the name of heaven anteroom. In fact, it is a plateau from which you can enjoy a full view of the protected area Tucavaca Valley with its unique dry forest Chiquitano its kind.
