Day by Day

Day 1: Trip from La Paz to La Cumbre and to Los Yungas of La Paz along on of the most spectacular highways in South America; once we arrive to Coroico, visit to a coffee farm and plantation.
We leave La Paz in the morning, taking the route towards the north. One of the most amazing highways in South America takes us to the tropical yungas of La Paz. However, first it is necessary to overcome La Cumbre pass – 4.700 m.a.s.l! From here, you will enjoy countless extraordinary panoramic views. We leave the main asphalted highway to take the route that winds by the skirts of the hills. The vegetation turns more and more exuberant: orchids, bromelias and all kinds of exotic plants lean out to the path, and we will even go by a waterfall. Pure nature! To touch it, you only need to extend the arm out the the car. Soon, we reach the lowest point at 1.300 m.a.s.l. – that is to say that you descended from almost 3.500 m.a.s.l. just in less than 2 hours of trip! We will arrive to the Finca Villa Shanti for lunchtime, to know then the coffee plantation of the property and to learn all about the production of first quality ecological hand selected highland coffee – from the plant, to the crop, the drying, the peeling, the toasting. At the end, you will taste the result of this whole meticulous process. We will rest at the hotel Gloria, in an idyllic environment and enjoying the beautiful pool. Day 2: Walk by the coca plantations and return to La Paz
A pleasant and idyllic walk by the skirts of a hill waits for you. After a short ascent, we will border the skirts of the hill at the same height, crossing small forests and going by agricultural fields alternated by coca plantations – sacred leaf of the Inca and object of diverse histories and legends. But also the coca leaf is currently a hot topic – your guide will tell you everything about it. Descending toward the valley, we will arrive to a small rural community, where our chauffeur who will take us back to Coroico will be waiting for us. Later, we set out trip to La Paz, this time for the new asphalted highway. Night at a central hotel in La Paz (B/-/-). – END OF OUR SERVICES.
